Annett Kamenz 2nd Overall at Ironman

After finishing with a sub 10 hour best time at IMAZ in November 2010 Aerobic Power's Annett Kamenz did 2 things she thought she'd never do. Break 9 hours and 30 minutes and in doing so finish second overall. With numerous turns biking and running in first overall behind the tv cameras, the unassuming athlete did not even realize that she was in first and must of have been so focused that the motorbikes and cameras out in front of her did not tip her off. It has been a perfect story about an athlete patiently working away year after year, training and working a job, improving a little every time out, but wanting to do even better every time. August 2011 at Ironman Regensburg Annett put all those years together, and with her parents watching, her dad for the first time, she swam, biked and ran her way to a 9 hour and 28 minute finish.

Sizzlin Results at Ironman Canada

A smaller but very focused and committed group from Aerobic Power competed with some amazing results down in Penticton at Ironman Canada. Once again the already difficult course also included some blistering heat throughout the whole day.

Starting with the newbies, Chris Bolivar, Deb Bond, and Tonya Younge, showed no signs of inexperience taking on the course and the conditions patiently and methodically with Chris and Tonya drawing on everything they learned from the Endorphine Daze IM Prep Camp they attended in July.

Tonya Younge- 11:31

Chris Bolivar - 11:35

Deb Bond - 15:15

Jill Footz and Andy Trevoy were back to pick up where they left off.

Jill Footz had a best day by 1:37 finishing in 12:25

Andy also made the best of the day improving his finishing time to 13:05 from 13:23.

Edmonton ITU Triathlon

Local and international triathletes gathered in Edmonton for a damp yet fulfilling weekend of racing on one of the more popular traithlon race courses around. Many Aerobic Power athletes were competing as either tune ups for future 1/2 or full Ironmans or a step on route to the Kelowna Apple Triathlon at the end of August. The big story of the day was Jannelle Merediths returning to racing following her stroke two years ago and doctors saying she'll never race again. For Margie Ritchie age does not matter as she led everyody from the team in her preparation for the Kelowna Apple.

Ironman Wisconson 2010

There is always so much hype around Ironman Canada that often when that comes and goes races that follow often go unnoticed. We still noticed the fabulous results of Mia Clarke, her husband James and their close friend Travis Eltom at Ironman Wisconson. Mia finished strong in 13 hours and 23 minutes. James missed Kona by less then a minute with a time of 10:17 and Travis came in shortly behind James with a time of 10:47. All 3 said they really enjoyed the design of the course and appreciated the large support from the town of Madison.

APTS Athletes Excel at Ironman Canada 2010

Several APTS athletes competed in Penticton, BC on Sunday, August 28th and endured some despicable weather; some encountered cold winds, rain, and even hail in some sections. Way to persevere and manage a few PB's along the way!! Special thanks to the APTS spectators out on the course.

Testimonials

"I wanted to thank you for your help earlier in the year with my IT Band injury. I finished the Sinister 7 and Deathrace this year healthy with no IT Band issues. I actually believe the second leg I completed in the Sinister 7 pushed my glute medius into finally working properly. I really believe the workouts you provided me made the difference this year and I wanted to thank you. To be honest, I didn’t know or necessarily believe I’d be alright after the Deathrace since for the last two years it’s signalled the end of the season for me. Now, I’m in uncharted waters. I haven’t been this healthy since 2006. I want to go after my Boston Marathon Qualifying time."
