Testing Services

Bike Lactate Test

Looking to cross the threshold from Average Joe to Awesome cyclist? Lactate tests can determine appropriate work intensities based on heart rate and power output/wattage. Once known, an athlete can make the most out of their cycling workouts and prevent overtraining and boredom from too much mindless riding. Tests will be performed on the athlete’s own bike using the Computrainer.

Bike Lactate Test
$100.00 / session (incl. GST)

Pedal Stroke Analysis

Looking to become a more efficient rider? Produce more power with less muscle fatigue? If so, then this is one feature you might want to check out. By using the Computrainer, an athlete can get an immediate visual picture through measurement of their pedal stroke, thus allowing one to see where their inefficiencies lie.

Pedal Stroke Analysis
$75.00 / session (incl. GST)

Swim Stroke Analysis

Considering some stroke improvement to help you become more efficient in the water?

APTS offers private swim lessons whereby the athlete receives individual attention to the improving their swim stroke. Lessons are limited to groups of 2 athletes.

$75.00 / session (incl. GST)

Swim sessions are held at the NAIT Pool.

Run Gait Analysis

“The Olympics have never had all the best athletes competing together at the same time”- Jack Daniels.

One of the greatest run coaches of all time believes that injuries have negated Olympic run events from fielding all of the best runners at one time.

We will begin with an evaluation your training schedules, tendencies and any past or present injuries or chronic pain. You will then be put through a Kinetic Chain Assessment which is an evaluation of how your body moves through common athletic movements. Following observations made while running on the treadmill, a full report will then be provided by the coach regarding biomechanical deficiencies that may be the result of poor flexibility or non symmetrical strength development. Feedback will then be provided on how to improve the deficiencies in order to heal old injuries, prevent them in the future, and improve your overall running efficiency.

Run Gait Analysis
$100.00 / session (incl. GST)

Testimonials

"I wanted to thank you for your help earlier in the year with my IT Band injury. I finished the Sinister 7 and Deathrace this year healthy with no IT Band issues. I actually believe the second leg I completed in the Sinister 7 pushed my glute medius into finally working properly. I really believe the workouts you provided me made the difference this year and I wanted to thank you. To be honest, I didn’t know or necessarily believe I’d be alright after the Deathrace since for the last two years it’s signalled the end of the season for me. Now, I’m in uncharted waters. I haven’t been this healthy since 2006. I want to go after my Boston Marathon Qualifying time."
